In an effort to expand our client base and projects within the GCC, in 2011, we established a branch of AGCEW in Qatar.The objective of this partnership was for AGCEW to become one of the main contracting companies in the region to participate in the development of Qatar which is expected to boom in the coming years. Furthermore, we are currently working on expanding to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and others.

Background

Contracting and Engineering Works (CEW) Company of Lebanon was established in 1981, by Engineer Mohammad Rashed Hamadeh. During the early 1980's, the government set forth national plans for development in all respects: Roads, water, national waste development, telecommunication etc. CEW was awarded to handle Projects on the western side of Beirut, and work with the Council of Grand Projects for the City of Beirut as an official body. In the late 1980's Lebanon went into a setback because of the economic and political situation. As a dynamic response to the decline in construction demand, CEW expanded and diversified its services and established RMC for Ready Mixed Concrete to supply the high demand for concrete in the private sector. RMC's business lasted for 14 years. CEW has also completed many Water projects, Roads, and Bridges in the City of Saida in South Lebanon.In Lebanon, CEW is classified as Class "A" for Water-Works, Road Works, and Building Contracting. Under CDR's own classifications, CEW is pre-Qualified for projects up to 40 Million USD in all type of construction. Al Ghurair CEW L.L.C. was formed though a strategic joint venture relating Abdullah & Hamad Al Ghurair Investment and CEW S.A.R.L.(Lebanon). Quality Policy

To assure conformance to the Customer's requirements using a documented inspection system that plans and organizes work functions to prevent and detect unsatisfactory conditions at the earliest practical point. The system of documentation establishes process requirements, essential procedures and critical controls necessary to facilitates process producibility, repeatability, inspectability, integrity and reliability. Furthermore, inspections and controls will be performed as necessary to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Processes and procedures are documented and used to fabricate and test deliverable supplies and services. Operators and inspectors are trained and certified to perform special tasks related to the required process. All personnel have been made aware of the management's commitment to this policy in particular and quality in general and are encouraged to demonstrate their own support to the system by continuous active participation.

Safety Policy

Our company policy is to attach the utmost importance to the prevention of any form of loss and, in particular, to the safety of its employees. It is the duty of all levels of management to do everything within its authority to prevent injuries to personnel and to minimize loss. It is equally the personal duty of every employee to do everything possible to avoid injury to him/herself and to others, and to minimize any form of loss within their control. The maintenance of a safe and healthful working environment is of the utmost importance for the successful operation of our business. To this end, safety requirements must be considered fundamental to the design of the procedures for the construction of our projects. To achieve our objectives, it is essential that the workforce be trained to follow procedures consistent with applicable safety standards. Each employee is and must be constantly alert to his or her personal obligation to observe safe operating procedures.
